These are sometimes taught in cooperation with other professional photographers, industry representatives and organizations. Like our individual workshops, many topics will be covered but group workshops include added exposure to the expertise and viewpoints of fellow photographers as well as opportunities for social interactions.

Professional Development & Consulting

Josh adapts the experiences he's gained while photographing in dynamic natural world situations to lessons that can be applied to the situations professionals face in the business world. These presentations inspire business leaders from a myriad of organizations to look through the eyes of a photographer when seeking creative solutions to the challenges of a rapidly-changing economic landscape. No matter what industry your company is involved in, we'll teach the members of your team how to harness the inner creativity that exists in everyone.

Photography and publication management have changed dramatically in recent years due to the advent of digital technology. New software programs, Web platforms and digital cameras are continuously created and updated yet few companies are able to retain the needed staff photographers or graphics experts on their payroll who are able to keep up with these dynamic trends. Employees who are specialists in other disciplines are often ill-equipped to handle requests for quality photography without assistance or inexperienced at directing professional photo shoots. We can help you weather these winds of change. Don't let your company's messages to target markets be lost because of ineffective photography and graphic design. We offer advice in the following areas to assist you in attracting new customers and engaging your existing ones:

  • Best practices for image capture including instructions on the selection of custom digital camera settings, available and flash/strobe light and pleasing compositions using any available in-house photography capability.
  • Tips for image editing in Adobe Photoshop and/or Adobe Lightroom and solutions for image storage, cataloging and workflow.
  • Processes for effective image display on the Web, keyword captioning and search engine optimization techniques.
  • Uses of photography for social network marketing.
  • Options for the design and placement of vibrant photography to keep print publications relevant in the digital era and in your marketing mix.
  • Counsel regarding image release, image usage rights and copyright law requirements.
  • Guidance on how to contract freelance photographers and direct photo shoots or search for sources of stock photography on the Internet.

All professional consultation services include a written report that includes an in-depth analysis of the use and effectiveness of photography and other visual elements as it relates to your company's communications/marketing strategy, a study of competitive and environmental factors that may be affecting your industry and recommendations for future actions. Please contact us for more information and current rates.
