Here are answers to some of our most Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: What type of camera equipment do you use?
A: Most of the images posted on this site were created with a Nikon
F100 35 millimeter camera, usually using either Fujichrome Velvia or
Kodak Ektachrome 50 or 100 speed slide films. After processing, the images
were scanned with a Nikon Coolscan LS5000 scanner. Some
images on this site were created with Nikon digital cameras including the D300.
Occasionally, a Shen Hao 4x5 II large format camera was used to
capture landscape images. Most landscape photos were taken while the camera was supported with a Gitzo G1227 carbon fiber tripod with an Arca-Swiss B1
monoball head.
Q: Do you manipulate your images?
A: The simple answer is yes, but to a minimal extent. Sometimes I use
filters, special films or other camera techniques to create special
effects in my photographs. However, for most of my images I limit my use of
special techniques as well as Photoshop or other image editing
software to simple contrast, color balance, sharpness and
saturation adjustments.
Q: Are your images available for stock
licensing?
A: Yes. Most images on this site are available for stock use. If there
is a particular image displayed on this site's online galleries that you are interested in licensing please make a Image Request and one of our representatives will contact you promptly.
Q: Do you sell prints of your images?
A: Yes. We recently integrated a PayPal shopping cart to enable online
ordering of our prints. All of our images are personally signed and
printed on Fuji Crystal Archive paper. We do not sell inkjet prints.
Occasionally we also sell special packages of matted and framed
prints. For more information about prints please see the About Our Prints page.
Q: Do you photograph weddings?
A: No. In the past I have photographed weddings (there are a few of
those photos posted in the image galleries for the purpose of
presenting my portfolio), but at this time I wish to concentrate on
travel and landscape photography.
Q: Do you provide graphic design or
printing services?
A: No. Right now I am a photographer and writer. This
content is mostly used in advertising, websites, magazines or other
editorial publications. Viewfinder Media is not currently a graphic
design or a printing company. If you are looking for a design or
printing company in the Denver area I would be happy to refer you to
some of my contacts. |
