Lumpy Ridge Rabbit, Rocky Mountain National Park

Happy Easter! Here is a fun image for the holiday from my Classic Colorado book. In the picture a young rabbit peers from a lichen-covered granite rock crevice close to a trail in the Lumpy Ridge area of Rocky Mountain National Park near Estes Park, Colorado. I was headed up to Gem Lake and a couple of other rabbits had hopped in front of my path that morning. Thinking I might continue to see them I kept my camera and telephoto lens in hand as I hiked. This one was the last one I saw before reaching the lake and ended up being the calmest (and probably the cutest) spending several minutes posing for the camera before jumping behind another boulder out of sight.
